I am a Registered Nurse specializing in the area of women’s health.
I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree in nursing with an emphasis on preventive medicine and community nursing.
I have also completed a two-year program in Herbal Therapeutics with internationally-known clinical herbalist, David Winston, AHG.
I have received my training and certification in Health Counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories—combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods. This program is also recognized and certified by Columbia University’s Teachers College.
I continue to further my education in the areas of nutrition, functional medicine, mind-body health, herbs and other aspects of integrative healing via seminars, workshops and classes. I believe that health is a process, an evolution, and that there are always new things to incorporate into my practice that will be of benefit to myself and to my clients.
I am currently the clinical supervisor at a large family health center where we care for people from pregnancy to old age. I have access to over 20 amazing physician’s minds to pick!! I incorporate my knowledge of integrative nutrition into my nursing practice and in return, I enhance my medical knowledge to share with my coaching clients.
I have a passion for writing and exercise this passion through my newsletters and blog posts. You can sign up for my free newsletters in the sidebar of this site. Also I encourage you to “friend” the women’s nutrition facebook page to receive all my upcoming blog posts. They are full of timely topics of interest and healthy recipes.

“I just had to send you a quick thank you. I was sitting at my desk at work this morning and I was lamenting about how out of control my life with food is. I am more than 100 pounds overweight and I am just tired of struggling. So I excused myself to the bathroom and said a prayer asking God to please help me with the life long struggle I have had. I proclaimed I didn’t know where to start of what to do and that I could not do it alone. And when I returned to my desk I opened up your email. What a blessing to me. I had to write you and tell you thank you so much. Today I will eat my lunch at a table and I won’t be in a hurry or distracted. I love getting your tips. ”
“Thanks so much. Every night I pray for wisdom to do the right things to make things better for him. Your knowledge is an answer to my prayers. 🙂 ”
“I really got a lot out of today’s session and I felt a sense of clarity throughout the day, that I haven’t felt in a long time.” Maria P.
