Autumn Weather
Autumn weather is by far my favorite. The crisp, cool morning air that warms up to a delightful sunny day is everything I dream about! Many of you know that I am the mother of 2 new poodles now, a middle-aged rescue mini named Smokey and a 7 month old, 47.3 pound Australian Standard poodle named Chocolate Mousse. My morning walks are now full of bounding, frolicking dogs, lots of energy and lots of motivation to exercise! Are you finding time to exercise? Bad weather is no excuse now! No heat nor humidity, just plenty of clean fresh air. I urge you to set your alarm early so that you can spend 30 minutes outside moving your body. You will be starting your day off in the best way possible! Just wash your face, don your sweatshirt and head out. A brisk walk or run in the mornings makes wearing blush unnecessary! You’ll glow without it!
Afterwards, be sure to stoke your metabolic fires with a good breakfast. We’ve talked about this before– skip the juice and jelly donut. Whip up a Vitamix smoothie or have a quick bowl of fruit and sprouted cereal such as Ezekial brand cereals. Maybe a slice of sprouted toast with nut butter and slices of early apples? Jonamacs and Paula Reds are in the Pattenburg Tradition Farms stand now. Be sure to have 2 pieces of fruit with your breakfast every day. This gets you off to a good start with plenty of fiber, antioxidants and vitamin C. And while you’re in the fruit bowl, add another piece to your lunchbag.
I don’t want to hear that you don’t have time for breakfast or morning exercise…I get up at 4:45 to catch the sunrise with my boys, and have breakfast around 7. You can, too. It’ worth it.
