A long week calls for Extreme Self Care!!

After a particularly grueling week, I dragged my self upstairs for a quick shower before retiring with a book for the evening. Sandy, my husband, had run out to Home Depot, so the house was quiet, save for the pitter patter of doggie feet. I saw my sissel brush sitting on the floor, and decided to take my own advice. I threw off my scrubs and sat on the rug and began to mindfully dry brush every inch of my body starting with my feet. I scrubbed and brushed until I glowed pink all over. I could feel my mood lifting as I did something nice for myself. Thoughts of a shower dissipated as I started to fill a tub with nice, hot water with Epsom Salts. A dash of essential oil, and I was truly feeling better. Oh, there was that bottle of light olive oil on my sink– I set the whole bottle in the tub to warm up, and then I slowly massaged a small amount of oil all over my body, again starting with my toes. This is an Ayurvedic practice which I truly love– there’s something so soothing about warm oil. Then, minutes later, into the tub I sank. Mmmmmm.
The world was not such a bad place after all!
I hope you take my advice and schedule in some good self care practices into your busy life. I am glad I did.
Peace,
Diane
