My perspective on perspiring…
Okay, this isn’t the most talked about topic, so I guess this is why I am writing about it!
We have grown up in this country using all sorts of anti-perspirants and deodorants ever since we were little kids. No one wanted stinky arm pits lest we be ridiculed by our peers. And as adults, no one wants to see us sweat- unless of course, you are at the gym.
But studies have been trying to make the connection between aluminum in antiperspirants and certain diseases, most notably Alzheimer’s disease. I happen to take these studies quite seriously. And besides, I don’t really think it is natural or good to try to keep us from sweating. Afterall, sweating serves a very real purpose in helping our bodies to detoxify. And antiperspirants work by blocking and shrinking our pores so we are physically unable to sweat!
I have tried most of the natural deodorants on the market–and found that none of them worked for me. Until I started using the mineral salts deodorant. Perfect! Not only is the mineral “deodorant crystal” naturally unscented so it doesn’t just block odor, it does the job by killing off the bacteria that cause our sweat to become malodorous in the first place. It is, in my book, a sure winner. I encourage you to let your pits breathe again, and toss out your antiperspirants in favor of the deodorant mineral salts. Okay, save the antiperspirant for those special events when you have to be dressed to the 9’s and don’t want a sweaty stain. I understand. But for everyday use, use the “rock” and prevent the possible side effects of chemical antiperspirants. Every little thing you can do to reduce your reliance on chemical and possibly dangerous ingredients is a good thing. Go for it!
