What to Eat workshop a success!

We held the “What to Eat” workshop last evening at my office in Flemington. It was my second wellness workshop hosted by Premier OBGYN, and I think we all had a good time! Several folks couldn’t attend due to scheduling, but we had some unexpected guests come at the last minute and it turned out to be a nice evening. We talked about the safety issues in our food today, what with the pesticides and herbicides that have become so prevalent in modern farming practices—- and the research that tells us that it is not as safe as we are led to believe!! We also talked about reading and understanding the labeling (which is no easy task!) as well as the local food movement.

I hope all who were in attendance came away with useful information and an interest to research this topic further. I encourage you to explore some of the websites I listed in the Resource page handout– they are excellent sites and will go into much more detail on the topics I covered last night. Also, check out the “Jersey fresh” site for lists of local farmersmarkets, u-pick-it farms, and all the events they host— a fabulous site!! And the peach festivals should be going on very soon!

Maybe I’ll see you down on the farm!

Enjoy the bounty!
