I admit, I am a green smoothie addict….
Alright, I admit it: I am addicted to my daily green smoothies, and I would be at a total loss without my Vitamix. I even have to confess that I lugged my Vitamix to New Hampshire with me, along with a huge green bag of kale, oranges and grapefruits this winter. I have only owned my V-machine since October, but I am smitten. I make lots of things with it including soups and nut butters, but, oh, the smoothies rule.
I start my day with the whirrrrrrr of the Vitamix, loaded with kale or fresh spinach and lots of fresh, seasonal fruits. Today, I added 2 really ripe peaches, some watermelon and a banana, and a sprinkling of a wheatgerm-flaxseed-cinnamon blend. Add a bit of juice or water to get things going, and presto! A wonderful, energizing GREEN drink. I have to accent the GREEN, because most people are put off my the color of the jarfull I drink every afternoon. Even my husband screwed up his nose the first few times I handed him his ration, but now he is a true believer. Even he, the world’s biggest skeptic and meat and potato man, swears the green smoothies give him energy! I Just smile with my green mustache….
Several of my clients have bitten the bullet and bought their own Vitamix, and have joined me in extolling the virtues of this wonderful machine. I admit, it is a considerable outlay of cash, but I have never regretted it one minute. I feel so much healthier and so much cleaner: that’s the best word I can think of to describe how good I feel including this amount of fresh greens in my daily diet. I encourage you to give one a try– the company is kind enough to offer a 30 day trial period: I’m curious if anyone ever sent one back! I couldn’t imagine. You can go to my resource page to find the link to the Vitamix site, and get free shipping to boot.
A few years ago, I bought a cute tee shirt from Life is Good that read “Veggie Girl” on the front. I finally feel like I fit the bill now.
